Christmas is coming and its cake baking season now !! We can find cakes and pastries in every shop .. I love baking but I am not an expert in it. Still because I love to bake and as its christmas i made a red velvet cake which looks like a snowball so Snowball Red Velvet Cake !!


Preparation time : 30 mins
Cooking time: 40 to 45 mins
Yield: 1/2 kg cake
▪All purpose flour/ maida: 2 cups
▪cocoa powder: 2 tbsp
▪baking powder: 1 tsp
▪baking soda: 1/2tsp
▪salt: 1/2tsp
▪Milk chocolate: 2 tbsp grated
▪Eggs: 2
▪Unsalted butter: 100 gm
▪Powdered sugar: 1 n 1/2 cups
▪Milk: 1 cup
▪Vanilla essence: 1 tsp
▪Diluted white vinegar: 1 tsp
▪Red food color : 1 tbsp
▪Whipping cream : 1 big cup
▪Cream cheese : 1 cup
▪Unsalted butter: 1/2 cup
▪Milk chocolate: 3 tbsp grated
▪vanilla essence: 1 tsp
▪Dried coconut flakes: 1 cup
▪In a bowl sieve together all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda  , grated white chocolate and salt and keep aside.


▪In another bowl, add butter and powdered sugar and whisk till it becomes soft and fluffy.


▪Add eggs to this and whisk well.


▪In another bowl; add milk, diluted vinegar and red food colour and mix.


▪Now add the flour mixture to the egg mixture partly and fold the batter in a single direction.
▪Add the prepared foodcolour mix to the batter with vanilla essence and whisk well till you see no lumps.


▪Grease a cake tin with butter or oil. Pour the batter into the greased tray.


▪Pre heat the pressure cooker for 5 mins by layering the bottom with salt and keep a stand on top of it .


▪Now keep the cake tin on top of the stand and close the lid. Remove the whistle from the lid top.
▪Let the cake cook for 30 to 40 mins.
▪After 30 mins, remove the lid and check with a tooth pick or fork by inserting and remove to check if batter is sticking to it.
▪If the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is cooked completely; if not keep it for another 5 to 10 mins.
▪Switch off the flame and remove the cake tin from pressure cooker.


▪Let it sit for 10 mins.
▪Remove the cake from the cake tin and allow it to cool by the time you prepare the cream frosting.


▪In a bowl add white chocolate and whipping cream. ( Whipping cream should be thick enough)
▪Microwave or heat for 20 secs and let it rest for 2 mins.


▪To this add butter, powdered sugar, vanilla essence and cream cheese and whisk well till it is fluffed to the peak.
▪Chill this for an hour.


▪ Now to layer the cream, Spread the prepared frosting evenly on the cake from top as well as side surfaces.
▪Finally top it with Dried coconut flakes on top as well as sides to make it look like a snowball.
▪Chill for an hour before serving
