Serves: 4 to 5
INGREDIENTS:
- Mathi/ Sardine: 10 nos
- Shallots: 6
- Ginger: 1 small piece
- Garlic: 5 to 6
- Redchilli powder: 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder: 1 tsp
- Blackpepper powder: 2 tsp
- Salt:1 tsp
- Coconut oil: 4 and tbsp
- Curry leaves: few sprigs
PREPARATION:
- Clean the sardines, slit at the centre on both sides.
- Crush together ginger,garlic and shallots.
- Mix together chilli powder, pepper powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt with little water.
- Marinate the fish with masala paste and crushed ginger,garlic and shallots.
- Refrigerate for 30 mins .
- Heat oil in a pan, add the fish pieces, sprinkle some curry leaves and shallow fry on medium to low flame till both sides turn crisp and brown.
