Serves: 5
INGREDIENTS:
- Boneless chicken : 2 large cups cubed
For marination:
- Corn flour: 1 cup
- Refined flour: 1 1/2 cups
- Egg: 1
- Black pepper powder: 1 tsp
- Salt: 1 tsp
For Sauce:
- Oil: 2tbsp
- Red chilli flakes: 1 tsp
- Black pepper powder: 1 tsp
- Garlic: 1 tsp minced
- Ginger: 1 tsp minced
- Brown sugar: 1/4 cup
- Orange juice: 1/2 cup
- Soya sauce: 2 tbsp
- Corn flour: 2 tbsp
- Spring onion leaves: few chopped
- White Sesame seeds: 1 tsp for garnishing
PREPARATION:
- Marinate the chicken pieces with items listed under ‘ for marination’.
- Keep in refrigerator for 30 mins.
- Heat oil in a wok and deep fry the marinated chicken pieces. Drain and keep aside.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add chilli flakes, ginger and garlic and toss.
- Add 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup orange juice and soya sauce and mix well.
- Add black pepper powder and toss.
- Mix 2 tbsp corn flour in 1/4 cup of water and add this to the pan.
- Add more water to adjust the consistency, it should be more like a semi thick sauce.
- Drop in the fried chicken pieces to this and mix well.
- Add chopped spring onion greens and sesame seeds and serve hot.
