Have you ever tried making chicken in orange juice ?? If not then you must try it.. It tastes delicious !!! Best combination to have with fried rice or noodles.

Preparation time: 30 mins

Serves: 5


  • Boneless chicken : 2 large cups cubed

For marination:

  • Corn flour: 1 cup
  • Refined flour: 1 1/2 cups
  • Egg: 1
  • Black pepper powder: 1 tsp
  • Salt: 1 tsp

For Sauce:

  • Oil: 2tbsp
  • Red chilli flakes: 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder: 1 tsp
  • Garlic: 1 tsp minced
  • Ginger: 1 tsp minced
  • Brown sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Orange juice: 1/2 cup
  • Soya sauce: 2 tbsp
  • Corn flour: 2 tbsp
  • Spring onion leaves: few chopped
  • White Sesame seeds: 1 tsp for garnishing


  • Marinate the chicken pieces with items listed under ‘ for marination’.
  • Keep in refrigerator for 30 mins.
  • Heat oil in a wok and deep fry the marinated chicken pieces. Drain and keep aside.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add chilli flakes, ginger and garlic and toss.
  • Add 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup orange juice and soya sauce and mix well.
  • Add black pepper powder and toss.
  • Mix 2 tbsp corn flour in 1/4 cup of water and add this to the pan.
  • Add more water to adjust the consistency, it should be more like a semi thick sauce.
  • Drop in the fried chicken pieces to this and mix well.
  • Add chopped spring onion greens and sesame seeds and serve hot.
