Northindian special Aloo Kofta Curry .. My family loves NorthIndian Cuisines and as it’s Navratri season now we are cooking all vegetarian food. This is one such recepie which I came across few days back and I innovated it in my own way and prepared it… And it turned out well… Happiness is when you cook and see others enjoying the food you cooked..

INGREDIENTS:
For Tikkis:

  • Boiled potatoes: 4
  • Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder: 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies: 2 chopped
  • Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp chopped
  • Grated cheese:1 tbsp
  • Salt: 1 tsp
  • Oil : 4 tbsp
  • Plain flour: 1 tbsp

ForGravy:

  • Onions: 3 sliced
  • Ginger garlic paste: 1 tsp
  • Tomato puree: 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
  • kashmiri chilli powder: 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder: 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder: 1 tsp
  • Salt: 1 tsp
  • Fresh cream : 4 tbsp
  •  Kasuri methi: 1/2 tsp crushed
  • Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp chopped
  • Oil: 4 tbsp

PREPARATION:

  • Prepare dough using the ingredients listed under for Tikkis.
  • Shape them into small tikkis. Roll them over plain flour and shallow fry till both sides turn brown and crisp.
  • To make brown onion paste, deep fry the onions on high flame till they turn brown. Blend the brown onions with a tablespoon of yoghurt into fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin Seeds, let it splutter. Add brown onion paste and ginger garlic paste and saute for 5 mins.
  • Add dry spice powders and mix on low flame.
  • Add tomato puree and cook till oil separates.
  • Add a cup of water and cook till it starts to boil. Add fresh cream and mix well.Now add the fried tikkis and swirl the pan.
  • Garnish with crushed kasuri methi and chopped coriander leaves.
